Biography
Jordy Birch is a Canadian singer-songwriter, composer and audio director born in Vancouver, British Columbia. His career began with the alternative rock band Pure, signed to Warner/Reprise after being discovered at Vancouver's Music West Conference in 1991. Produced by Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison, Pure's debut album generated multiple #1 singles in Canada and placed "Blast" at No. 22 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart — earning a Juno Award nomination and a Canadian Music Video Award along the way.
Pure's song "Greedy" was featured in Ralph Bakshi's animated film Cool World. After three acclaimed albums and tours including Australia's Big Day Out festival, Birch launched a solo career, charted again in Canada, and in 2008 co-founded Guilty About Girls — whose single "Candy Candy" hit #1 on iTunes. In 2024, he returned to releasing new music under the Pure name.
Today, Birch channels that same restless creative drive into original composition and audio direction for the world's most prestigious automotive marques — bringing cinematic depth, rhythmic precision, and decades of sonic craft to every project.
